I’m currently on my train home and looking forward to an
evening in to relax. Last night I had a great evening with Mirel.
Before we went to Chicago we went to an Indian restaurant where I
got my typical whiteboy non-spicy meal of chicken korma. It was
extremely delicious with the only downside being the 1litre bottle
of water we ordered was in fact only 750cl and there was an annoying
fly interrupting our food but we couldnt kill it because Mirel is
vegetarian. We got to the theatre and I must admit I was quite
underwhelmed with everything at first. The size of the theatre was
nowhere near the scale of the one where I saw Wicked and the actual
show had no fancy background changes and no major costume changes.
But after a couple of songs I really got into it and it was great
apart from an abrupt ending. There was also a moment when 3 guys
started dancing and smoking in sync, looking cool wearing their
tophats. However the dancer in front failed to light his cigarette
properly which made me lose concentation of the song, I just
focused on the dancer to see if he would sneakily light up halfway
through the number, to which he didn’t. All the women were amazing,
they were not exactly pretty, but these were real powerful women
you wouldn’t want to get in an argument with (in a naomi Campbell
I’m skinny but independent and tough kind of way). Any man who
prefers the woman to wear the trousers will be in dominatrix
heaven. As for the male dancers they were extremely impressive, but
at one point i had to look away when they were flexing their butt
cheeks to the bass-line. It must have taken years of practise to do
that. Overall a great show, I’ve now seen the rock of ages, lion
king and wicked, with the latter still being my favourite. The
question now is which show do I watch next? Hmmm.
