This is my last day of relaxing ‘inbetween jobs’ before I have my first day at Barnardos. I’ve already prepared myself with a smart haircut and a shave, washed a few shirts, and clicked my brain into gear by playing complex computer games that can only increase my IQ which at the same time will increase my chances of a job promotion.
Once upon a time I thought I spent too much time on computer games, some games I would spend most of my weekend on. Today I finally completed Fallout: New Vegas, which took a good month, and during which I heard a quote from an in-game character which stuck with me. “The time you enjoy wasting is not wasted time”. As you get older I guess you think there is always something productive you should be doing, like cleaning the sink or combing your dog, but I prefer to relax and enjoy my time. Of course some people don’t have that option, but seeing as I do, I think I’ll take it.
Something that made me laugh yesterday was seeing Ricky Gervais’s monologue from the Golden Globes. To do something like that takes balls of steel. I’ve never really paid attention to Ricky, I saw one episode of the Office which was quite funny and an episode of Extras featuring Les Dennis which was very funny, and a stand-up routine where he made a mockery of the Bible (also very funny).
Hmm I’ve just had a cheese sandwich but I’m still hungry. I’m trying to be healthy so I shouldn’t eat cake, and I really shouldn’t get a take-away. I have a bunch of bananas on my desk but I had one earlier, I could have a biscuit but they don’t fill me up, I have ice cream in the freezer but I already feel quite cold. Sometimes I just regret having a stomach 😦
