I don’t care what anybody has to say about it, I love my Kinect.  Yes the launch games were not great, and yes the technology isn’t perfect, but I still love it.

I’ve had the Kinect for a few months now, but this morning was the first time I found the motivation to do Zen before work.  I would never do it at a gym, the thought of rushing there before work just doesn’t appeal to me.  But with the Kinect it’s far more convenient, and in the long run works out cheaper as well.

So here I am on a Monday morning,  feeling relaxed and focused for the day ahead.  I feel calm, but something is bugging me.  Theres a ‘friend’ of mine who I’ve known for a few years, and I can hear his voice in my head being negative about the Kinect.

You see, when I first bought the Kinect, he was the first to say it was a waste of money.  He claimed that people don’t want to wave their arms around to play a game, and that this was all just a flash in the pan.  Now then most people’s opinions I respect, but this guy just grates my brain into an unedable sandwich.

I can’t stand ‘hardcore’ gamers.  You know, those spoilt brats who think the gaming world should revolve around them.  They see someone playing on a Wii or the Kinect and look down on them like they’re a lesser species.

Gaming is fun and addictive, it’s all entertainment.  Some games like Mass Effect 2 and Red Dead Redemption are just a world above anything else, they immerse myself more than any film has done.  But when you get these idiots who think they’re a world above the other just because of a game, then you have to wonder what else they do with their lives.

Do you ever go on forums and wish you could kill somebody with the click of a button?  I do all the time.  Maybe I need a holiday.
