I’ve had a great weekend, have you?

So it’s Monday morning and the Sun is shining very brightly indeed. Sadly in my office that means all the middle-aged women come into work with their cleavage hanging out. I really don’t know who they are trying to impress, but I hope it’s not me.

I had a great weekend, and it was infact so great that my respect for the human race has shot right up. It all started on Friday night when I went to a friends birthday. I had a really dull day at work and wasn’t really looking forward to going out, we were going to a club called Billie Jeans in Epping, and I was worried it would be full of gangsters and rude bar-staff etc.

However the club was amazing and there were no gangsters, it was just full of drunk people having fun, which is what clubbing to me is all about. To be honest I don’t remember too much, but apparently I did dance a bit, which I blame the white wine for.

The next day I was feeling hungover, and normally when I’m hungover I spend the day in bed. However I was due to play football at midday. I was dreading it as I could barely focus on anything, all I wanted to do was sleep. But as the game got going I started to enjoy myself, and we went from 6-0 down to winning 11-10. Not a bad result I think.

At the end of the game I was feeling tired but on a high, and my high went even higher when my friend offered me a ticket to see Weezer next month! My weekend had barely got to the halfway stage and already I’d had a great night out, a decent football game and now a Weezer ticket.

Later in the day there was a fair going on down my local highstreet. It was great seeing the Sun out with so many people enjoying themselves. I really need to stop reading the papers, they give the impression that community spirit is dead but it’s clearly not. The next day I went to Embankment with Mirel and again everybody was out enjoying the sunshine.

And after watching Wimbledon and Glastonbury on the TV, it’s good to see that despite all the bad stories we read about, the majority of us in England still seem able to have a laugh. So yes, my respect for the human-race has shot up by a mile, now I need to get on with this week and hope the weather stays good for next weekend.
