Over the past week or so I’ve been playing Deus Ex, a game I started playing 10 years ago but never finished, and after replaying it religiously I am finally nearing the end. The game can get quite tense, using stealth to avoid guards, and the robots are incredibly scary, with their stomping footsteps and deadly machine guns.
I did think to myself a couple of days ago, I really hope I don’t have a dream about this game, because I really won’t enjoy it. I guess the Devil was reading my thoughts, as last night I dreamt I was in the game, and no, I didn’t enjoy it.
There were robots and soldiers everywhere doing their patrols, which wasn’t very nice. There was no way I was going to let myself get spotted, so I just walked around in circles in the same spot. The robots in the game are scary, but when you are in a dream and you don’t realise it’s a dream, it’s pretty damn frightening.
Strangely enough whilst I was avoiding the robots I heard my granddad and I think my Dad having a conversation with each other, though I can’t remember what they were talking about. Why could I hear my granddad in my dream? Well a few days ago Mirel was asking me about him, so maybe that’s why.
At the end of the dream I heard a Duck quacking. I’d heard this same Duck quack before, but in my dream I couldn’t figure out where I’d heard it. Then I woke up, and my phone started ringing. Of course, my ringtone is the sound of a duck quacking.
How did my dream know that my phone was about to ring? And on another note, why do I always seem to wake up just before my alarm goes off?
Oh yeah and if anyone comes up with an invention that can record images from dreams, I’ll pay them a million quid.
Thankyou
