At the moment I have a bad cough, though to be honest it’s not too bad, I’ve probably had worse, I think. I keep wondering to myself when will it ever end? Will it be as soon as tomorrow or next week? But I don’t want any medicine because I want it to fade naturally. It’s a nice thought thinking your own body can beat something on its own rather than the help of drugs.
I always try to look on the bright side of life, it’s either that or be a persistent moaner to all my friends, and I’m sure they all have their own lives to moan about.
For instance I could moan that yesterday I forgot the fleece that goes under my coat, so I was quite cold when I was outside doing errands at work. However I didn’t moan, instead I chose to think about how much warmer i was compared to an Eskimo, or pretty much anyone else that lives in the snow. However I also realise that life is a delicate balance, so if you spend the rest of your life comparing yourself to those worse off than you, you will forget about your own life. You will end up giving all of your money to charity whilst spending your weekends doing volunteering and other noble deeds. Sometimes you should treat yourself, and selfish as it may sound, remember that there are millions of people who are much better off than you as well.
For whilst I was outside doing my errands, I noticed a bus drive past me, with a very comfortable looking man sitting at the back wearing a very warm and cosy looking coat. I have no idea he if was happy or sad, but all I knew was that in that moment of time, that man was warmer than me, and so far better off.
I sometimes wonder if I could go back in time and start again, say from the age of 5, would I end up any different to what I am now?
