Simcity is a game that I’m not sure whether I like or dislike. It’s addictive and very pretty to look at, but its a shame Maxis have ignored a lot of complaints about the small map sizes. I’ve made quite a few cities now (though really they’re just towns) and as I run out of room they all seem to look the same; a bundle of tall buildings squeezed into a square-sized space.

Instead of building one giant city I’m expected to use many small regions which share each-others resources, except it just doesn’t work. I tried sending money from one city to another and it just went missing, there was no explanation as to where it was, it just disappeared.

There are many things missing in this game which I presume will come in the form of DLC, which to say the least is an absolute rip-off. I don’t mind paying 50p for something such as new building designs but you can bet they’ll charge at least £8. What a ripoff.

Here is a small list of what I want added, preferably for free –

More depth to the road-system –

Yes we can now lay curved roads and they all look very pretty, but what about what happens on the roads themselves? There may be certain areas of the city where more road deaths and injuries happen than others, which can clog up your healthcare. Setting speed limits and speed bumps, and perhaps speed cameras for extra income (resulting in some unhappiness from your residents) would add much depth to the road system.

Museum
House of Worship
Subway
Pedestrian bridges
Monorails
Marinas
Disneyland style themepark?

I’d like the sports stadium to actually have a team who play home and away matches (where you can pump money into the team to eventually get better results). The quality of your School Sports facilities could also have a knock-on effect with results, and the increasing quality of your team brings more tourists on match day.

I wish this game would have Seasons. Wouldn’t it be great to see your city in winter with snow and Christmas lights? And beach tourism would be a nice change from just relying on casinos and monuments.

I want the option to turn off the alerts I get to build a base for this ridiculous superhero called Maxisman. When I first read you could have a superhero in your city, I thought that was fantastic, and I imagined from time to time I’d see the superhero flying amongst skyscrapers, fighting crime for the good of mankind and helping out during natural disasters. Instead I get a guy who stays hidden in his base all day, who’ll only help out when I PAY him. Batman never charged for his services…

I am sure there are many more things i want added, but most of all I just want bigger maps!
