As I was reading through the beginning of The Stranger I wasn’t really sure what I was getting myself into. I wasn’t sure if I was enjoying it, yet I felt compelled to see where the next page would take me. I picked this up at the library based purely on the stunning artwork and intriguing title, I hadn’t read nor even heard of the novel this was based on. But I was gripped and read through it in one sitting, proving that perhaps you should judge a book by its cover.

You follow a main character who seems completely devoid of opinion, who has seemingly given up on the world. The choices he makes throughout the novel will have you stratching your head. Is the character poorly written or is he really so disconnected and numb from the world? Turns out the latter was true. By the end, everything will make sense.
The Stranger is a beautifully paced novel where you’ll only pause to look at the fine art. This is a piece of perfection and has me intrigued to read the novel this was based on.
