I must say I am looking forward to the next edition of Football Manager being released, as i am probably West Ham United’s only chance of being promoted, and Football Manager is the only real outlet where I can do it.
I have put in many thousands of hours into my football management career. Ever since Championship Manager 3 (and before that Premier Manager, Ultimate Soccer Manager and 1-0) I built up a decent set of skills, won many trophies, and cemented myself as a legend of the game.
My reputation is pretty untarnished. I may have fallen out with a few players, but one principle I abide by is that the club always comes first.
The most recent editions of Football Manager haven’t grabbed me so much, perhaps because the main game is bloated with too many stats, and the classic mode feels like there is too little. But with The Hammers in dire straits, I am eager to pull through in whichever mode no matter what.
Alas, in the real world i work in an office, but thankfully i don’t work in a management position. My office doesn’t pay you millions in compensation to get rid of you, so why bother? Besides, when you are a football manager, who has the time to manage an office anyway?
